There is more than meets the eye if you’re looking for adventure at Honey Branch Falls! Most folks are only aware of the upper waterfall that is located on a short hike off of Route 16 near Beckwith. However, if you are up for the challenge, there are at least two other waterfalls farther down Honey Branch that I have included on this website. Be warned though, this is not an easy hike down at all to the other two falls. It is very steep! If you’re not up for the challenge of seeing the two other waterfalls, this waterfall, which I’ve deemed ‘Upper Honey Branch Falls’ is beautiful no matter the season. During dry seasons, it trickles down in small beads and makes for a very interesting capture!

The waterfall is located about 0.4 miles south of the Route 60/Route 16 intersection along Route 16 in Fayette County near Beckwith. Two of the three waterfalls I mentioned above are actually under an overpass that spans over Honey Branch. There is not any parking here, so what I usually do is park just a bit farther south and then walk my way up. This is a busy highway, so please be wary of traffic, as folks do drive fast through here. Once you walk north and see the overpass, you will see a trail to your right. At this point, you should be able to faintly here and see Upper Honey Branch Falls. It’s not hard to navigate up close to it, but there are some slick rock in places. If you want to check out the other two waterfalls, you will drop down below this waterfall – there’s no path here, so you’ll carve your own easiest path. It’s not easy but worth it!
