Dunloup Creek Falls is a stunning 20 foot tall waterfall in Fayette County a couple of miles southwest of Thurmond. The waterfall is personally one of my favorites, and almost always has good flow, even during dry periods. Dunloup Creek empties into the New River right below the Thurmond rail station.

To see Dunloup Creek Falls, take the West Virginia Turnpike to Exit 60 (Mossy). Off the exit, turn left onto Route 612 for about 7.7 miles to Scarbro Road, and turn right onto Scarbro Road for 2.2 miles. Continue onto Glen Jean Lane and then left onto McKell Avenue before turning left onto Thurmond Road for 4.3 miles, where the waterfall will be on your right. There is parking available along the road.

Though the waterfall is easily visible from the road, a quick scramble to the creek bed will certainly provide the best views!
