Douglas Falls in Tucker County, simply put, is a wonderful waterfall. This behemoth stands 35 feet tall and almost always has some sort of flow to it, even in the driest of months. There are SEVERAL vantage points to get a wonderful perspective of this waterfall – even behind it if you are careful! There’s plenty of rocks to stand on (though be careful, as they are slippery), and you can go downstream and catch a shot of the entire waterfall system as shown below! No matter what, this waterfall will never disappoint you! It is breathtaking in person!
To get to Douglas Falls, head to the town of Thomas in Tucker County. Turn onto Douglas Road (Route 27) for 1 mile, and then take a slight left onto Rail Falls Road. The waterfall will be on your left in about 1.4 miles. Be cautioned, Rail Falls Road is rough! I ended up parking about where Albert Falls is located and then walking the rest of the way, as there were large ruts in the road when I was there.
