The locals refer to this waterfall along Laurel Creek in the Beckwith area of Fayette County as ‘Captain Crunch Falls’. It is very unusual in that there is a large rock perched on the top left side of the waterfall. Even extreme flood events, such as the June 23rd, 2016 flood were unable to make any progress on moving it! This unique waterfall stands about 20 feet tall, and there are a ton of angles to get shots from! It is very rocky in this area, so be careful!

Captain Crunch Falls is one of several waterfalls located along Route 16 in Fayette County between the Cotton Hill fishing access area and Fayetteville. You could spend an entire day photographing the different waterfalls here – I have! There’s not a ton of parking along Route 16 for you, but there are a couple of pull-off spots for you to take advantage of on the right side of the road heading toward the city of Fayetteville.
