Another beauty located along Turkey Creek in Fayette County is Middle Turkey Creek Falls. Once again, this is a treacherous waterfall to get views on, so take it slow! This ten footer is my favorite on Turkey Creek, as the falls flow into a pool that makes for beautiful shots, especially toward fall. Middle Turkey Creek Falls is located a bit farther down below Upper Turkey Creek Falls off of the Cliffside Trail.

To get to Middle Turkey Creek Falls, drive about 2.2 miles southeast from the US-60/WV-16 intersection at Chimney Corner in Fayette County. Heading southeast on US-60, there will be a pull-off to the right side of the road for one of the most iconic views in West Virginia – a view at Hawks Nest. Park here, and to the right of that viewing area will be the Cliffside Trail. Take that trail, which will meet up with Turkey Creek after about a 1/4 mile. You can head off of Cliffside any way you wish – it’s steep no matter the trek, but there will likely be some makeshift trails made by recent trekkers. Just make sure to take it slow! The creek itself is rather slick as well.
