My pictures of Minden Falls likely don’t do the waterfall justice, as I was there on a low flow day. Nonethless, the waterfall is quite beautiful and is an often-overlooked fall in the middle of waterfall country in Fayette County. This waterfall stands at about 15 feet tall and has a nice pool off of its vertical drop!
To enjoy Minden Falls for yourself, take Exit 60 (Mossy exit) of the WV Turnpike. Head east on Route 612 for 8 miles until it connects with US-19. Head north on US-19 for about 1.7 miles and turn right onto Route 16 (Main Street). In another quarter mile, you will turn right onto Minden Road (Route 17), and the waterfall will be beyond a wide spot to the left. There is minimal parking, and the waterfall was not visible for me from the road, so keep your coordinates close by. There is a path that leads to the waterfall.
