I’m a big fan of this smaller waterfall along Dunloup Creek in Fayette County. It’s located less than a quarter of a mile before the main waterfall on Dunloup Creek. Despite this waterfall, dubbed “The Little Brother” not getting the fan-fare that its bigger counterpart receives, I find this waterfall equally attractive, as it has a nice staircase appearance. The great thing about Dunloup Creek overall is that it still flows nice even during periods of dry weather.
To see “The Little Brother”, take the West Virginia Turnpike to Exit 60 (Mossy). Off the exit, turn left onto Route 612 for about 7.7 miles to Scarbro Road, and turn right onto Scarbro Road for 2.2 miles. Continue onto Glen Jean Lane and then left onto McKell Avenue before turning left onto Thurmond Road for 4.1 miles, where the waterfall will be on your right. There is some parking available along the road.
